The York Federation of Students (YFS) would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to another great year at York University. The YFS represents over 52,000 undergraduate students here at York University. 

YFS offers many services that can make your academic life easier, your social life more sociable, and your political life more active. The YFS General Office is located in room 336 of the Student Centre. The office is where members are able to make general inquires, speak with executive members, or speak to our student advocate on academic appeals. The YFS also has a Members Services Office located in room 106 of the Students Centre. Here you can purchase Yuk Yuk's tickets, inquire about your YFS Health and Dental plan, become an active member of a YFS campaign, find out the next YFS event, and much, much more. 

Historically, the YFS has always been on the forefront of social change, whether it is advocating for an equitable campus, helping champion York University's first ever no sweat policy, organizing students against war and occupation or continuing the fight to reduce tuition fees. As students our strength is in our numbers and we hope that you will get involved in the YFS as we continue our fight for social justice.

As a student at one of the largest universities in Canada, it is easy to get lost on campus and in your textbooks, but we encourage you to get involved and make the most of what can be a thrilling university experience with your students' union.

The York Federation of Students, Local 68 of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) is YOUR students' union representing over 52,000 undergraduate students. The YFS council works to serve you and improve your student experience by providing you with relevant services, advocacy, and events.

Your National and Provincial Students' Union

As Local 68 of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS), the York Federation of Students is a proud member of the Canadian student movement. The CFS is the provincial and national student’s union of which all undergraduate students are also a part in addition to the YFS. The CFS is a network of 85 student unions representing over 500,000 students across Canada. By working together we have strength in numbers and are able to make a real impact on the policies of all three levels of government. With this united voice, we are able to fight for students’ rights and provide cost-saving services to all students.
